(11-10-13) Boost wellness by receiving the healing energy of the earth

by Fleur Hupston

(NaturalNews) Recent studies are highlighting the myriad of benefits of
spending time connected to the earth. Humans, it would seem, are designed to
stay in touch with the free and ever-present healing energy of the earth's
surface. Simply walking outside barefoot can improve sleep, decrease stress
levels, lower blood pressure and improve immune system function.

Modern medicine usually sidelines alternate health therapies that refer to
energy forces that run throughout the body. These energies are sometimes
referred to as "chakras" or "meridians" or "qi."
Traditional Chinese Medicine, from which the practice of acupuncture arose,
centers on this belief. Disruptions, blockages or interruptions in the flow of
energy running through the body are said to cause ill health by alternate
practitioners. This concept now appears to be "grounded" in science.

Health benefits associated with connection to earth's energy

Dr. Oschman, who has impressive academic credentials and has worked in major
research labs around the world, is an expert on energy medicine. His research
outlines the many health benefits that result from spending time connected to
earth's energy. Dr. Oschman describes the body as a living matrix comprised of
semi-conductive material connected to every cell of the body.

The increase in chronic illness, inflammatory diseases and immune system
dysfunction throughout the world has been linked to environmental factors
(chemicals, pollution, toxic water). However, scientists now deliberate that it
is not so much connection to the environment, but disconnection from the earth
that may be responsible for the increase in diseases. And this disconnection
may be as simple as wearing rubber or plastic soled shoes, or living in a high
rise apartment block.

The earth's surface is electrically conductive and provides a continuous
supply of free electrons. This energy field can create a stable bio-electrical
environment in the human body, which assists in normalizing the function of the
entire system. Wearing rubber or plastic soled shoes can effectively block the
earth's goodness.

Regularly connecting to the earth is said to make the blood less viscous,
resulting in lower blood pressure, according to Cardiologist Dr. Stephen
Sinatra. Improvements in conditions such as chronic pain, difficulty sleeping,
rheumatoid arthritis, PMS, sleep apnea, asthma and hypertension have been
reported by those who have slept on grounded carbon fiber mattress pads.

The beneficial influence of earthing helps thyroid function and accelerates
the body's immune response, according to Drs. Sokal - a father and son team.

How to practice grounding

Simply walk barefoot wherever possible, along the beach if possible, or on
dewy grass if you are landlocked. Natural materials such as concrete and wood
do allow earth's energy to flow through, but not if they are painted or
varnished.
