Pregnant mothers who have a very high intake of fatty and sugary food while their child is in the womb may be putting their child at risk of obesity.
It seems that eating habits can carry over from the womb because a mother who eats for two may be teaching their child to have a higher intake of food when they get out into the world and have to eat for themselves.
Dr. Stephanie Bayol stated that "Our study has shown that eating large quantities of junk food when pregnant and breastfeeding could impair the normal control of appetite and promote an exacerbated taste for junk food in offspring."
"This could send offspring on the road to obesity and make the task of teaching healthy eating habits in children even more challenging."
Appetite hormones and such are very hard to regulate and teaching them to eat a lo while in the womb could send them on a difficult road to changing what they are used to for a food intake.
